Preserving the Past & Celebrating the Arts in Schuylkill County | Historic Frank D. Yuengling Mansion
SCCA MARKTS
For the past 17 years, the SCCA has proudly hosted craft markts that celebrate creativity, community, and handmade magic! Nestled inside the Historic Yuengling Mansion in Pottsville, PA, the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to supporting the arts and local artists in Schuylkill County and beyond.
Our markts are more than just shopping events—they’re a celebration of craftsmanship and connection. Each one features a curated mix of handmade goods, original art, delicious food, and so much more. Behind every booth is a passionate maker, and behind every markt is our mission: to give artisans a space to shine and to create unforgettable community experiences right here in Schuylkill County.

Timeline, Fees + Insurance
Vendor Application Timeline
Application Periods:
-
Easter Bash + Markt & Spring Markt: Applications open in January each year.
-
Hallo-Fest + Markt: Applications open in July each year.
-
Christkindlmarkt: Applications open in August each year.
The application window closes on the date specified within each application.

Application Review Process
Once applications close, each submission is carefully reviewed based on:
-
Quality and uniqueness of products
-
Fit with the aesthetic and atmosphere of the event
-
Balance of vendors (we strive to limit duplicate offerings and rotate participants to provide variety)
Notification Process
Vendors will be notified via email of their acceptance, waitlist placement, or denial on the date noted in the application.
-
Accepted vendors must submit payment within 10 days to secure their space. Failure to do so forfeits the spot, which will be offered to the next vendor on the waitlist.
-
Waitlisted vendors will be contacted if a space becomes available in their category. Please note: waitlist placement does not guarantee participation.
Vendor Fees
-
Fees range from $50–$200+, depending on the market.
-
Specific fees are listed on each application.
-
Payment in full is due within 14 days of acceptance.
-
There is no fee to apply to our markets.
Vendor Insurance Policy
Business insurance is not required to participate in our markets, though it is strongly recommended. We encourage vendors to consider one-day event coverage for added protection.
All participating vendors are required to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement prior to the event.
Consumable Vendors
Licensing Requirements:
Vendors offering consumable goods—including food and beverages—must hold proper licenses from the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture.
-
A copy of valid licensing must be provided via email upon acceptance.
-
Vendors without current licensing will not be permitted to participate.
-
The SCCA is not responsible for vendors who fail to meet licensing requirements.
Weather, Cancellation, Additional Questions
Weather Policy
All markts are rain or shine.
In the event of severe or unsafe weather, the markt will be canceled and will not be rescheduled. In this case, vendors will receive a 50% credit toward a future markt. Credits are valid for one year and may be applied upon acceptance to a future event. Vendors must still apply as usual to redeem this credit.
Vendor Cancellation Policy
-
More than 1 month before the market:
-
If a vendor cancels with email notice more than one month in advance, we will attempt to fill the vacant spot.
-
If a replacement vendor is secured, 50% of the vendor fee will be refunded.
-
If a replacement cannot be found, no refund will be issued.
-
-
Less than 1 month before the market:
