Julie Askernia, Ph.D, holds a doctorate degree and has successfully taught piano as a Senior Professor at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical University, in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 1997, she opened and still currently maintains her piano studio at the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts. She also teaches at the Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, PA. She specializes in piano, accompaniment and all theoretical sciences of music.

Julie's goal as a music teacher is to foster a love for music to each student and to develop their full potential while considering their individual needs. She believes that a well-rounded music student should have the ability to read and interpret various musical styles in a knowledgeable and artistic manner. If you bring a discipline approach to music, she believes it will build a student's confidence to play and give back to their community by sharing their music with school, religious, and other musical events. Julie works with students of all ages and levels and loves incorporating fun games and activities into lessons.
