Allied Artists of Schuylkill County
The Allied Artists of Schuylkill County (AASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts in our region. Established in 1962, the group was born out of the first art exhibit sponsored by the Schuylkill County Recreation Committee in partnership with Blue Mountain Joint High School. This inaugural event, inspired by the vision of Robert B. Koslosky—a former art instructor at Pottsville High School and D.H.H. Lengel Middle School—laid the foundation for what would become a vibrant and enduring artistic community.
Now celebrating over 62 years of creativity, AASC has grown to include more than seventy artists and art-supporting members. The organization continues to honor its founding mission: to stimulate, encourage, and expand public awareness and appreciation of the fine arts throughout Schuylkill County.
AASC members meet on the third Thursday of each month from April through November, with the exception of July, which is reserved for the Annual Art Exhibit—our flagship event showcasing the talents of local artists. Meetings provide a platform for fellowship, artistic growth, and opportunities for instruction and critique, helping members develop their skills and creativity in a supportive environment.
Our goals are to foster a deep appreciation for all forms of visual art, to encourage the study and practice of artistic techniques, and to support the creation of original work. We also proudly sponsor and participate in community art projects that enhance public spaces and bring people together through the shared experience of art.
AASC remains committed to cultivating a thriving arts culture in Schuylkill County—one brushstroke, sketch, and canvas at a time.
